This five-day educational program, held on the campus of the University of Toronto, will focus on understanding and utilizing the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and other mechanisms of the women’s human rights system as tools for activism, feminist analysis and women’s human rights movement-building.

UK – CEDAW for Change Institute, September 25-30, 2017
We are pleased to announce that we will also be offering a second public program in 2017, in collaboration with the Women’s Solidarity Fund to be held with the International Gender Studies Centre at the University of Oxford, UK.
This program will involve a short online pre-course followed by in-class sessions from Sept 25 – 30, 2017.

Note: The WHRI offers a limited number of discounts and fee waivers for each program, with a focus on WHR defenders from the Global South, Indigenous women activists, young women activists, LBT activists, dis/ability rights activists, and representatives of underfunded organizations with small annual budgets. We also offer discounts for full-time students and those on a very limited income, on a case by case basis. Please note that in all cases, participants will be responsible for their travel and accommodation costs, so start fundraising early. More information about costs is available on the website.
